Ingredients

  • 450g diced sirloin steak
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 can of Campbell's Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 120ml water
  • 60ml (4tbsp) dry sherry (optional)
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • Cooked rice or pasta
  • Chopped fresh parsley

Method

  • Step 1

    Season the beef with the black pepper.
  • Step 2

    Heat the oil over a medium heat.
  • Step 3

    Add the beef to the pan and cook until browned.
  • Step 4

    Set the cooked beef to one side and drain off the fat from the pan.
  • Step 5

    Reduce the heat and cook the onion until tender. Stir in the soup, water, sherry (optional) and tomato puree then bring to the boil.
  • Step 6

    Return the beef to the pan and heat until cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  • Step 7

    Serve the beef stroganoff over the rice or pasta, sprinkle with parsley and serve.
